MEAL Spotligh Series 2026

𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 - 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬

The 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 is changing fast. Shrinking funding, rising accountability expectations, rapid digitization, and growing demands for evidence-informed decisions are reshaping MEAL systems and professional practice. Yet, spaces for honest, practitioner-led reflection are limited.

That’s why 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 has launched the MEAL Spotlight Series, to convene the MEAL community around critical, experience-driven conversations. Experts across diverse MEAL areas within and Outside Malawi will join to discuss 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬, 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 the future of 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫-𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 projects.

The series focuses on:
1) Reflecting on MEAL’s evolving role in complex contexts
2) Discussing the skills and capacities MEAL professionals need today
3) Exchanging honestly on accountability, data quality, governance, adaptive management, and emerging technologies
4) Learning from real-world experience, not idealized frameworks

Led by 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐢, 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, the series is practitioner-driven, designed to foster peer learning and collective thinking about the future of MEAL.
